RoboCop - Prime Directrives [FAN-CUT EDITION]

-----------------------------------

Hey, guys!
Some of you may remember me as Directrive4, I used to be around here a few years back! ;)

Anyway, I've been watching P.D. as of late, and felt a huge sense of duty as to put it on a proper-visible shape. We all know P.D. is a lame attempt to bring the old Robo back, but anyway, I felt that it has some good material.

So what I did was to cut down all the excessive content, and here's a small brief of what I did:
- Removed most of Bone-Machine sequences (including the hostage situation with The Bombs, which I changed a bit drasticly), and made him appear a lot less to make him look a bit more terrifying rather than just plain pathetic as he seems to be
- cut out most of OCP's pointless meetings and small chit-chat stuff
- removed some of the bad acting and pointless scenes
- reduced the fighting sequences to create more dinamics on the narrative
- removed some spoiler scenes to create more mistery around Robocable - as an homage to RoboCop 1!

My pitty is that I couldn't wrap the P.D.'s soundtrack - that trompet-based theme gets into my nerves...! - but anyway, I managed to reduce 4 episodes to just 2, with two-hours each (aprox.).
For the titles, I chose "PD01 - Dark Justice", and "PD02 - Meltdown"..

Do you guys know of a site where I can upload these 800mb WMV files so that I can share these with you?

Thanx!!

Well, I've tried to cut out the pathetic and meaningless parts of it...ended up changing the story a lil'bit on the first chapter. But anyway, I think it's more enjoyable now than it is on it's original form! All I wish is that I could edit the damn musical-tracks...!! Argh, and those sfx, too!

Eheh, me too! :)

I will post them as soon as possible! The thing about the P.D. cut is that I didn't add anything (like new texts or gfx), all I did was cut, cut, cut...lol I really tried to pulled out the best in P.D., killing the dull and lame moments, cutting out the un-necessary parts of chit-chat and lame-intrigue, and tried to make it more cinemathical...hope I accomplished that!

I'm doing the final cut tonight, and I'm still gonna use Adobe Premiere to see if I can enhance the image anyhow...maybe I'll put the two black-stripes like some movies have (one on the above, the other on the bottom of the frame), or tone down the colors a lil'bit. I'd love to aproach the image to Paul Verhooven's pallette on the first Robo! Any sugestions? :)

You mean going for a widescreen-on-TV 'Letterbox' view? That sounds fine, but you should remember to take care that it doesn't take out any serious details. Though I don't know if we would be losing much anything, I ain't actually seen PD in some time.

Bottom-line, it would be kinda cool, but I don't have to have it.

I think it's funny that you cut away basically 4 hours of Robo:PD. it really was that bad. :)

..maybe I'll put the two black-stripes like some movies have (one on the above, the other on the bottom of the frame),

Robo:PD is filmed in widescreen already so you shouldn't have to do that.

Unless you have the French version that is a zoomed in fullframe. So if cut away the top and bottom even more of the frame would be gone.

Thanks, guys!

Actually, I wasn't able to maneuver around the techno-virus thing, but anyway I've done my best to make it look nice... :)

I've made the final cut on both episodes, and "Dark Justice" lasts 1h:59ms, while "Meltdown" lasts 1h:44ms.

***SPOILER ALERT (for those who didn't see P.D.! LOL)***
Basically, "Dark Justice" runs through the death and ressurection of John T.Cable, and ends when he's taken by K.Dick. I've tried to do my best to avoid Bone Machine, and while I took him out of the first hostage situation, I've cut him down to the confrontation on old Metro South precint. Also tried to keep the mistery a lil'bit up to who's controlling him, as I've practically removed his conversation with Sarah. ;)

Along with that I've also changed the Murphy/Cable team-up about Bone-Machine's investigation. Since he didn't appear on the hostage situation, it doesn't have to show. Although, Cable is conducting an investigation of his own about Security Concepts, and that self-explains itself when he gets to the O.C.P. wharehouse and calls Robo to meet him.

Also removed the laser-alarm system on the OCP tech-stealing sequence, I thought it was just too damn lame...! Instead I've tried to create a more cinematic entrance of RoboCop...you'll see what I mean! ;) aaaand Damian doesn't die laser-ripped (what a lame death! lol), so I've sticked to the basic "fell-down-the-elevator-shaft-and-whaaam"!

I thought a bit about the car-chase between Cable and Robo, and I felt it was annoying, badly directed and didn't tell anything new to the story that couldn't be explained later on, so I've cut it out.

In the end, those who know P.D. will notice the (sometimes) drastic changes - like the "new" birth sequence for Cable (this was in homage to the first RoboCop movie!), the faster and more dynamic fights - and those who didn't see P.D. can actually wait for this to come out!

Believe me, it will be better than the original (not too hard to accomplish...lol)

I'm exporting them to .WMV as I write, and I hope to upload them tomorrow.

Just as soon as I get a link for them, you'll have them both here! ;)

http://www.megavideo.com/?v=JQG9YB07

RoboCop - Prime Directrives Part II: Meltdown
http://www.megavideo.com/?v=QWPBBQE2

Remember that this is the cut-out edition...I've created these using Windows Movie Maker (I don't have any other video editing software, so everytime I wanted to make a crossover-fade between takes, the program would just shutdown...how lame's that? lol), so what you'll get is sharp cuts...some of them are seamless, and some others you'll only notice because of the soundtrack (ooohh, if I could remove the trumpet-based theme and replace everything with the original Robo01 and 02 soundtracks...!!).

I think P.D. is now more enjoyable than before, since a whole lot of garbage was removed. It's faster, a lil'bit more cinematical, and most of the bad, lame acting moments and who-knows-why-huge-meaningless-scenes-filled-with-nothing were removed.

Enjoy it, folks! :)

Also, I think it wmight be a good idea for you to invest in a different video editor! WMM is OK, but very limited (I experienced them when I was at Uni), probably the best I've used is 'Magix Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus'.... yeah I know, it's a bit of a mouthful, but a very good program

Eheheh, well I sure welcome your advice and will keep it in mind! I only did this because I was boooooooored and I thought Robo could use some help with P.D., and unfourtunantly when I made the cuts, I didn't have anything but the Movie Maker, which would crash anytime I'd try to cross video-cuts to create fade-ins and outs...lolol just like that!

My codecs are always up-to-date, I do a lot of video editing/creation

Converted it to MKV, OGM, AVI, MP4 and even MOV, some problems... more so with MOV, picture didn't work :( It's most likely just the download, though it doesn't matter, I can watch it as is. Or just make my own edit, I have some time to myself tonight :D

*EDIT*

Right, well, I've managed to pull out a perfect copy of the file I downloaded, but in order to do so, I had to convert to MP4, strip the sound from the video, split the sound into the left and right channels into two seperate AC3 files, then re-lay them over the video stream....*brethes in*.... and finally, converted the files into a standard AVI format video (1.28GB in size I might add). Which now works perfectly :video:

So saying that, I have now been able to watch your edit without anymore problems. I is imnpressed more now, but I see and hear the edits better now too, though it's more along the lines of the problems of the editor. I would have left a few more things in from the original than you did, but it's a good edit. C+

I watched the first episode and I must say, I enjoyed it alot more with a good portion of the terrible acting cut out! ;D There was a much greater focus on Cable as a result and that was welcome. Bone Machine's scenes were gleefully not missed and his re-edited sole appearance towards the end is made more effective as a surprise.

Unfortunately, the link on MegaShares don't seem to be working anymore (it's weird, the first time I tried downloading the first episode it got around 90% then failed, maybe because of Megashares' 550MB limit, then I tried several times in the last few days but the download won't even start).

Okay, I finally watched the first one (I wanted to see the three feature films again first, to better put this in perspective).

Firstly, I'll have to say that sadly I was not able to see the end... the movie cut off abruptly for some reason just after the death of the OCP board.

Aside from that, it's a pretty good edit. It certainly has a better flow and manages to cut out some of the zanyness that plagued the miniseries (though there were some more things I would have cut... like Robo reading Miranda to Cable. Why would he do that if his fourth directive is forcing him to kill Cable, whether he resists arrest or not?) Granted I can see how the resulting music jumps would make some cuts not worth the gain... a pity. Remarkably, the music only had very few such noticeable jumps (two or three I think), and I imagine those cuts must have been worth it.

There were some things that felt a bit confusing and abrupt because of the cuts. Such as Sara framing Cable and her alliance with Lowe, or the fact that he was not authorized to deploy System Control... though I'm certainly glad the CEO's reaction to that suggestion was cut. When I first saw the miniseries, I thought it would be something bigger and badder than ED 209 and instead it turns out to be a bunch of guys with taser beams (I had flashbacks to the Omega Force of Operation Canadian Bacon).

So yeah, a better experience, I look forward to part 2.

...but you know, it's kind of funny: the players kills itself just as the exposition on Legion is about to get to the part concerning its effects on living tissue.
It's like the player's saying "A computer virus that dissolves flesh? Not on my watch!"

Redownloading the file worked! The one I had must have been corrupted somehow...

Anyway, huge, HUGE improvement on this second part. I remember when I first watched Resurrection and Crash+Burn I found myself groaning and wondering how much longer they would drag things out. Not this time!
Definitely much more dynamic a cut and unlike the first part nothing really felt rushed or lacking a proper introduction.
But the major improvement was definitely done to Cable's character. In the original Prime Directives, Kaydick tries to persuade Cable with words, but when that fails he immediately resorts to torturing him to make him do what he wants. Then throughout both episodes Cable would seem sort of like a masochistic willing slave. I mean, he had ample opportunities to knock Kaydick out grab that remote of his and smash it. On the contrary most of the time he seemed more than happy to follow his orders and further his maniacal revenge scheme.
In this edit Kaydick actually persuades Cable without coercion and this makes Cable much more interesting and less... nonsensical. It is only towards the end when Cable begins to stop being so cohoperative that the remote shows up. This really, really makes for an enormous improvement.

Definitely enjoyed this a lot. Thank you David Cell, thank you Gadget and you too Johan.
I'd say despite some lingering zanyness (legion I'm looking at you) this edit classifies as the best Robocop after the first two movies :D

Oh My!!! :D

Lots of reviews!!!

;)

I've taken in consideration all of what you've written, and therefore I took the chance and toke a leap forward on P.D. .

It is now a 3-hour movie, and I've improved it a lot more than the previous 2-film part. I've reduced a lot of action, reduced a lil'bit more of meaningless dialogue and created a more dynamic mix between some scenes.

Also, I've added three effects on the image:
- a bit of Glow (it's SCI-Fi, anyway..hehe)
- a lil'bit of dust on the image and I also toned down the colourscheme, to make it look a lil'bit more like the 87's true masterpiece...
- Adjusted the frame-rate to 22 to 23, so it looks more like an old movie but still keeping it's characteristics.

So, bottomline, now it looks like a good sci-fi b-series movie, instead of just a pure clean and enormous series.
It's cutdown, edited, remixed and chewed up. Now it feels like what's it's supposed to feel like!

Even in spite of the bad acting and low-budget effects, it now feels like what RoboCop 3 could have been!

I'll post it as soon as possible, possibly tomorrow! :)

Oh, and by the way! I've fixed all the jump-sound problems on this new mix... ;)

Do notice the first mixing cuts I've done where using Windows Movie Maker! ;p This time I've picked on those 2 edited movies I've done and I really re-made the mix on Sony Vegas 9.0 Pro, so now the sound is good and not just cut-down. It has a dynamic feeling instead of the wall-flat-cuts like the previous mix of both 2 episodes.

This is really something I'm proud of, and I think that now some can also agree that P.D. has something good, even with the Legion madness (I've tried to cut it down even more... ;D)

I hope this feels like a new RoboCop movie. To me it does! ;)

Alright, people!

I've rendered about three different versions of the final "Dark Justice" movie (the whole PD-series into one movie hehe), and I was not satisfied with the image quality (since I was using the same two old-rendered WMV's that I've previously created for the first cut-edition.

So I've ripped my own Dvds (yes, I did buy them...) and I'm currently replacing all the scenes, one by one, and the result's already great!

One of my hopes is that even Mr. Julian Grant himself may one day watch this cut-out edition and see where he failed...nonetheless, it's now a really interesting RoboCop movie. Better than the third one, anyway...

So I'm still gonna have lots of work ahead of me, but I'm gonna do as much as I can. Maybe in two weeks I'll have it finished.

Guys, this is really comin'out preety good...the new mix is really cinematographic, and I'm trying to keep it as close to the 87 classic as possible...I'm retuning the image so that it is eye-candy but still. rough and with the colours as close as possible to the first movie... :)

I'm gonna work on this tonight and this whooooole Saturday. Sunday it's gonna render and probably Monday I'll have a link for you guys! ;)

It lasts for 3h11ms and 44 secs.
A true epic! hehe

I've taken the chance to improve on the final-cut, so now it does look like a movie and feels like a movie. A good ol'B-Series movie, anyway... ;)

I've added a few new FX into certain scenes, and tried to keep the transitions as dynamic as possible without "killing" the vibe. All I really wanted right now was to replace the sounds and music, but hell...it's already a milestone away from what P.D. used to be.

Now I think it will finally earn some Respect from us. The original P.D. really has a lot of potencial, and I've fleshed it out on this edition.

Johan, I think now you can add "RoboCop - Dark Justice" on the RoboCop Archive... :)

By the way, does any of you know how to make a copy of this movie reach Mr. Julian Grant? I've searched and found the normal company-based contacts, but I was really looking forward to send him this.

Also, does anyone know of a site where we can upload up to 4Gb of video?
I'm rendering it as an Mp4, 720x480 with 21Fps.

Not really sure what kind of reaction you expect to get from Julian Grant. I mean showing him a video where you have deleted more than 50% of something he created is probably not going to make him happy. It's like sending a 10 minute edit of RoboCop3 to Fred Dekker.

The movie is complete and it looks absolutely great! It may not be the best RoboCop movie of all time, but it's definitively a reasonable sequel to what could have been RoboCop3.

I actually consider this as a RoboCop 4!

"Ten years after his creation, RoboCop is really starting to feel his age"...and this is how I accept Fletcher's performance on Robo's suit. Thinking he's malfunctioning and "over the hill"... ;)

I'll post the link for the download just as soon as I get one!

Oh, and by the way..I was thinking:
- why not turn this into a fan-made Dvd?
Johan, you have lots of P.D. archive, namely Making Of's and such...do you think you could create one or two P.D. featurettes and we could make a new RoboCop dvd?

Oh, and if someone wants to throw in a few covers, I've got the text:
"Ten years after the original Robocop, Delta City, considered to be "The Safest Place On Earth!", has become a futuristic city owned and operated by OCP, and RoboCop/Alex J. Murphy (Page Fletcher), has begun to feel his age. Murphy finds himself nearly obsolete, and must deal with the fact that his now-grown son James (Anthony Lemke) is an OCP executive, unaware that his father is still alive. Also, Murphy's former partner, John Cable (Maurice Dean Wint), has returned to Delta City as its new Security Commander. A machine-hater, Cable begins to see past the shinning armor of the once White Knight of Old Detroit and now Delta City. Slowly, Cable starts an investigation, unaware that he's coming dangerously close to expose a corporate mastermind, with mindblowing answers to his questions..."

Make sure to put in the description "This piece of cinema has been altered for artistic purposes. And in no way generates any profit. Under shared information act, this video is protected."

Then you should have no problem. Make sure you include credits.

Please do notice that I couldn't ammend some of the terrible glitches this series has, such as bad acting and low-budget effects...but appart from that I did my best to make it more enjoyable with more dynamic action-sequences, also correcting the weird shots where RoboCable was "flipped" horizontally...all is corrected and finally it reveals itself quite interesting!

;)

Hope it can be a reasonable and enjoyable "new" RoboCop movie...I sure like it this way, nonetheless! If you picture this with better actors and better effects, it'd be a good sequel to RoboCop2.

;) hehe

I've been seriously thinking on making another movie-mash up, using some episodes of RoboCop - The Series, and turning them into one single-movie. Fleshing out the fact that his father discovers who he is...problem is, there's Pudface Morgan which is, in many ways, pathetic...and no blood.

So what I'm thinking of doing for this movie, that will chronologically happen before "Dark Justice" is:
- remove Gadget
- make Pudface more menacing
- insert blood shots
- turn Robo more menacing
- remove Diana on her "ethereal" form
- create links between episodes to form a solid argument.

I've been thinking on using "The Future of Law Enforcement", "Prime Suspect", "The Human Factor" and "Corporate Raiders".

I know I can create something using these episodes...but I still need to learn how to create blood-impacts and stuff like that, cuz I want this Robo to kill. And be mean. ;)

Your thoughts people?

-----------------------------------

Well, I have to give you my congratulations to you!
I just finished watching Robocop Dark Justice, and I must say your series mashup improved the PD mini-series a lot!

Very positive aspects were the more interesting story prespective, no pointless meatings and dialog, the atmosfere was very dark in some point (great work on that), and although we canīt change the "bad acting", you did cut the worst parts and that worked for me.

I also liked the ideia for making "Bone Machine" appear only when Murphy is in a showdown with Cable :D So you cut down the spoilers :D

At least I loved the new perspective on how Cable is searching about Murphy's life :D
Damian now gives the feeling of a true bad guy!
And the way Cable is "brainwashed" into doing what Kaydic told him was way more interesting.

Now the only part I didnīt like, was the ending. Donīt take me wrong, I just think it should have ended when Robo walks to the city, and just cut out the final media break, it should only be the music and the credits.
It would give a more powerfull ending to the story, and more of a robocop1 ending feeling :D

Never the less, you did a great work, congratulations

As for making the series into one whole movie, I actually say leave it, as even if you did your best, it wouldn't pan out well. :nothanks:

If you were to try, at most you could use 3, maybe 4 episodes to make it convincing :ohdear:

*EDIT*
Nope, just the first and last episode!!

Philip17: Thank you very much for your review! :)

I agree with you on all points, even on the ending part! I'm gonna be straightfully honest with you: I did try to cut-out that part, but after a few tries (one of them zooming into just the image-square without the credits rolling), I did feel that it needed a lil'bit more of an ending-wrap than Robo just walking to the city.

Although it would've been more RoboCop1 just to cut into the credits and finally leave it at that, I felt that there would be something missing... :)

But that's exactly what I've tried to do:
- cut out the worst acting parts
- cut out Bone Machine
- create more dynamic action sequences
- give more emphasis on Murphy and Cable, without making them look pathetic or at least misguided
- give Cable a more badass feeling, giving the illusion he's actually doing what he sees fit, but owing Kaydick his life, so he'd help him out in return due to his own strong sense of honor and justice

And attempt to deliver something that could be Robo-worth, again... well, I guess it worked just fine! :D

I like it, to be honest...now I can watch P.D. with no hard-feelings and without hating Julian Grant. He actually gave us "raw material for the machine" to be worked with... ;)

As for the series, Zentron, I think I can actually manage to deliver something in a dark tone as well...removing noncense dialog and bring a more dynamic cut into some badactings and action sequences. interlinking the stories to create a nice mashup, I think it can be actually done! :) All I need to do is to learn how to insert blood hits and stuff like that, cuz my Robo is tired, mean and just not in the mood... ;)

By the way, I think this new version of P.D. fleshes out more interestingly the fact that Fletcher was a horrible RoboCop, by inducing that he's really old and with some parts not working well... :)

Thank you very much for your review!

Oh, and about Damian! ;D That character was truthfully buggin'me...I mean, there's so much potencial on that fella, and the original editing really just made him look pathetic, so I did my best to bring out only the badass in him... ;)

The tone of the movie is dark and there's a point you can almost feel a lil'bit despair on what's gonna happen and the mood of the movie itself, so I think P.D. is on it's full potential...no more meaningless and time-consuming unworthy sequences anymore: just the bare essentials!

I'd actually like to see this version on a movie theater, to be honest! :)

You did a great job for what you had to work with. You cut away A LOT of the cheezy moments and tightened up the talky scenes considerably.

To be honest I found it hard to watch with a clean view, as the original product and all the crappy acting is hard to ignore, but I was pleasantly surprised and sometimes chocked on how certain scenes got improved and actually worked in this edit.

Great work! :)

Thank you, Johan!! :)

If you'd like to make it an integrant part of the Archive, please do! hehe

I'm really pleased that you've liked this version...I really worked out to the best of my abilities to make it worthwhile...but the bad acting and some horrible musical moments, well...there's nothing I can do about it...! Nonetheless, I think it's something we could send out to Mr. Grant, hm? ;)

-----------------------------------

I'm nearly finished with my new RoboCop - The Series mashup, that includes a mix between:
- The Future of Law Enforcement
- Prime Suspect
- Trouble in Delta City
- Ghosts of War
- Public Enemies
- Corporate Raiders
- Provision 22
- The Human Factor

and I've decided I'm renaming it to "RoboCop - The Human Factor".

It's more serious, less childish, more mature and definitively more RoboCop than the original series. A LOT. ;)

Soon I'll open a new thread with the download link for the torrent with the movie. I'm just making the final cut, correcting "glitches" I've found on the narrative, and I believe tomorrow I'll have something online for you to download.

At this moment, it's a 90-minute movie. ;)

Hey guys,

trying to download the new fanedit so I can lay down some more praise... unfortunately I'm having some problem with the torrent. Initially it worked fine and got up to 11.5% relatively quickly, but now it's stuck, even though uTorrent clearly sees a seeder.
Any clue as to what may be causing this?

Got no clue...my computer is always seeding. Hmmm, maybe try to re-download the torrent file and retry downloading again...that's the only solution I can find at the moment. :)

Johan, can I add the RoboCop Archive logo on the end of this "RoboCop - The Human Factor" Fan-Edit? ;)

RoboCop - The Human Factor is finally complete! I'm going to watch it in full today to see if there's any inconsistency, and if not, I'll create the cover artwork and create the torrent file so you guys can download it! ;)

Maybe later tonight I can get you the link for the torrent!

So while I'm finishing the final render of "RoboCop - The Human Factor", I've decided to create a "Various Artists" would-be-soundtrack for my "Dark Justice" edit.

So I've chosen a few songs, with special attention on the lyric (each song is related to a theme, character or scene in the movie, but I won't tell which, obviously...I leave it to your own interpretation! ;) )including "I'm Not Jesus", from Apocalyptica, which I think fits like a glove on this "new-old" movie...hehe

So I took Apocalyptica's original video and music, and...well, I've made my very own version of the video using footage from the "Dark Justice" edit, and after a hour and half work, I gotta tell you...it looks like the music was made for this! ;) hehe I think it's something you'll like, specially if you've enjoyed this new RoboCop edit from P.D. .

You can access my Dark Justice folder here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?p2ie91pn8m48s

By the way, Johan! If you want, you can post this along the other RoboCop Archive videos! I can't post it on my YTube account because I've got my very own The9thCell channel, so I can't upload this track, obviously...but since this one "belongs" to the Robo-universe, I think it's ok to upload to the Archive! (it already has the logo hehe) ;)

Hope you guys enjoy this VA mix, and the new video!

More news on "The Human Factor" in a few hours!

-----------------------------------

Wait, so what's this? Versions with lyrics of songs that were only instrumental in the miniseries? Or a wishlist of what you would have liked to have in Dark Justice if you could replace the music without losing voices and sound effects?

Anyway, finally got around to watch the new cut. It took me a while because I wanted to find the time to see it all in one go. That didn't happen, chiefly because my DVD player screwed up halfway through. I think this could be fixed by making two separate files (I did run into some problems burning the disc because of the file size).

Anyway, for my review... pretty much everything I said for the previous cut applies to this one as well but taken further: it's a definite improvement over the four parts miniseries, but some of the complexity behind the scheming of the villains, especially early on, ends up being lost, and some characters kind of pop out of nowhere (particularly the creator of SAINT who only shows up in the third act).

I like how you fixed Abbie's death scene so she doesn't charge the System Support grunts with a empty rifle, like a moron. That was always groanworthy in previous versions.

It is also EXTREMELY appreciated, how you cut out some more of the bull concerning SAINT. In particular the face which is now only seen once (and most importantly, not overlapped on the EMP explosion)... and along with it goes the circa 20 repeats of "Mommy wake up", reduced to about 6, I think. Good riddance.

Yet there are scenes that are removed which I did like and I don't feel that the three hours straight format works. I saw it in two times the first hour then the latter two, and the longer one still felt too long. So all things considered, I think I preferred the previous cut you made (pity for the poor video quality due to Windows Movie Maker).
But regardless of my personal preference, great job on both of them! :)

And yes, I have tried several different players; DivX Player, Cyberlink PowerDVD, WinMedia Player, all make my comp crash after a few moments, thgough with WinMedia Player Classic, I have managed to get a few minutes before my comp goes kaput :ohdear:

Hmmm..that is really odd...! :|

Maybe the file got corrupted some how...or maaaaaaybe your videocodecs are outdated. Anyway, try to copy that file to some other directory (with the torrent program shutdown), and try to watch it. If it really is corrupted, you'll have to re-download it.

I've just verified yet once more, and the movie plays fine on both my laptop and desktop...and my laptop is really old and manages to play it perfectly!

Zentron, try using BSPlayer...it's really good. Besides, before hitting the BSP, try to update your video codecs to the latest. I don't think you'll have any probs after that... ;)

By the way, Duke Serkol! Thank you for your review! :)

I did my best to eradicate the "excess tissue" that plagued P.D., and well, seems I did a lil'too much trimming on some parts, but of course, it's my very own vision of it and yes, I also agree it is a bit too long...

This cut is definitively better than my previous 4-to-2 episodes cut, not just because of image improvement ( I did a filter of my own to make the image work just how I'd like it to be on the big-screen hehe ), but also because there's a lot of new editing and work around it, where I've tried to keep it as sane as possible, without damaging the story.

Hobbley suffered on this cut, because unfourtunantly, everytime he gets screen-time, he's being bugged by Damian in a way that...well, ridicularizes both characters. So, to avoid destroying the nice character Dr. Hobbley is, I've kept him kind'a "misterious" up to the big finale...all considered, I think it works fine...

As for the rest of the action on the "movie", I've tried to keep it as dark and realistic as possible...avoiding the crap as much as possible (sometimes I really felt like shooting that kid...lol), trying to make it look...well, credible.
I know it's sci-fi, but hell...there's a whole lot of good RoboCop material on that series.
It's a good story that got carried away, and sub-produced. At least now we can watch it kind'a decently.

How I wanted Mr. Eden back on the Robo-suit for this one...I'm not even going to wish Mr. Weller nor Mr. Burke. Just Richard, and the whole PD thing would have been soooo much better.

;)

(and the crappy SFX that plagues Robo's movements...)

As to this final cut's length, it sure helps to be in the mood for a 3-hour journey through the world of a B-Series Sci-Fi "kind'a flick"... ;)

Yeah, another bothersome thing about PD is how short Robocop is in it. Sometimes it's downright laughable :(

(and the crappy SFX that plagues Robo's movements...)
Yeah, it's too bad you couldn't remove the sound he makes after Cable gives him the last bitchslap (before chasing down the rest of the good guys, near the end of the movie).
Such a stupid sound. But can't sacrifice dialogue there to get rid of it.
