With the prospect of a new RoboCop film looking quite distant (although with Sony throwing away their Amazing Spider-Man franchise, anything is possible), I thought I’d do a little summary of what some of the various RoboCop cast and crew are up to in the near future.

Peter Weller will be starring alongside Dolph Lungren, Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and Michael Jai White (Spawn) in action thriller Skin Trade, due to open in May. Surely, Weller is overdue a call from Stallone for Expendables IV.

No stranger to blood and gore, Kurtwood Smith (Clarence Boddicker) will be appearing in horror flick Amityville: The Awakening.

Robert John Burke will be appearing in We Only Know So Much, True Story and Being this year, as well as filming for 2016’s The Ten O’Clock People.

Joel Kinnaman will be seen next month starring as Liam Neeson’s son in thriller Run All Night and later in the year alongside Christian Bale and Natalie Portman in drama Knight Of Cups. Next year, he will be starring opposite Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike in The Bends.

But possibly the biggest deal for Kinnaman is his casting as villain Rick Flagg in DC Universe’s Suicide Squad starring Will Smith due 2016 following Batman Vs Superman. The role was previously linked to Tom Hardy, who Kinnaman stars with in Child 44 which also reunites him with Gary Oldman (Dr. Dennett Norton). Oldman will also be appearing in Man Down, Criminal and Flying Horse, the latter of which he will be producing too.

Fresh from his Oscar nomination for best leading actor for Birdman, Michael Keaton (Raymond Sellars) will be appearing in Spotlight as well as lending his voice to Minions before appearing in King Kong prequel Kong: Skull Island due 2017.

Fresh from appearing as the villain in R-rated blood-splattered comic book adaptation Kingsman: The Secret Service, Samuel L. Jackson (Pat Novak) will be returning as Nick Fury in The Avengers: Age of Ultron this May.

Paul Verhoeven is returning to Basic Instinct territory, directing stalker thriller Elle, due this year.

Frank Miller is executive producing the movie adaptation of his graphic novel Ronin.

Jose Padhila is developing another crime thriller The Brotherhood, a film adapatation of the 2006 crime book based on a real story about two rogue cops murdering for the mob.

Reboot scribe Joshua Zetumer has written Channing Tatum sci-fi actioner Gambit, due October 2016, as well as writing and executive producing thriller Villain.

Ray Wise (Leon Nash) is pretty busy with a number of TV projects appearing in Marvel’s Agent Carter, Fresh Off The Boat and Twin Peaks, as well as movie Malevolent.

Tom Noonan (RoboCain) is appearing in the TV adaptation of 12 Monkeys.

Jill Hennessy (Dr Marie Lazarus) is filming for next year’s horror The Others, whilst Remy Ryan (Nikko) is appearing in comedy horror Opious, later this year.

Bradley Whitford (Fleck) is currently appearing as Jonathan Cooke in TV’s Happyish and will be back on the big screen for I Saw The Light.

Abbie Cornish (Clara Murphy) will appear later this year with Anthony Hopkins in Solace and next year in climate change thriller Geostorm.

Possibly the busiest of the bunch is the reboot’s criminally-underused Jack Lewis. The Wire’s Michael Kenneth Williams has recently been appearing in The Gambler and Inherent Vice, opposite Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix respectively. He’ll be seen in March opposite Jeremy Renner in thriller Kill The Messenger. He’s then in fact-based thriller Captive with Selma’s David Oyelowo, Transcendence’s Kate Mara and the T-1000 himself Robert Patrick. Williams is also in blues biopic Bessie and crime drama Anesthesia with Twilight’s Kristen Stewart. He’ll then be filming with Danny Trejo (Machete) for 80s crime drama 179th Street due for release next year.

Jackie Earle Haley (Rick Mattox) will be seen in two thrillers London Has Fallen and Criminal Activities.

Jennifer Ehle (Liz Kline) is currently in Fifty Shades Of Grey and will be seen in Spooks: The Greater Good - the movie adaptation of BBC TV show Spooks (which was renamed MI5 in the US). She will also be in the family sci-fi drama Advantageous.

Jay Baruchel (Tom Pope) will be appearing with Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone in Aloha before once again voicing Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III in How To Train Your Dragon 3.

Aimee Garcia (Jae Kim) will be in family comedy After The Reality.

Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Chief Karen Dean) is currently starring with Doctor Who stars David Tennant and Arthur Darvill in the second series of the UK’s Broadchurch.
