In each film we’re introduced to a new feature like the data spike in the original film. He doesn’t use it much in the second film but briefly in the third film. But in Robocop 2 that arm panel pops out to alert the techs he’s in critical condition; I’m surprised it didn’t come out in R3 after he took a grenade to the chest. It reminds me of the time on the series where Murphy’s left leg opened to carry a canister. I never knew it could open to store items.

Basically, a lot of Robo's interations after the first movie introduced new concepts regarding his body. The Series had him store multiple items in the left leg - the canister, like you pointed out, as well as his TAC grenades. He also had something built into his feet (I forget the exact name of the gadget, sorry) that allowed him to stay firm in position and get rammed, for example.
The Avatar Press comics introduced the idea that he had additional ammo clips in his gauntlets.
And Alpha Commando, as we all know, went overboard with the additional gadgets - net launchers, roller skates and even a friggin' microwave oven in his chest... _________________ Anything you post can be used against you!

RamBolts. Anchored him down into the ground and nothing could knock him over.
I think the Series did a decent job of organically expanding Robo's capability while still keeping him Robo. The cartoons and other things went way overboard lol _________________ I don't wanna pay that, PhotoBucket. Now maybe you haven't heard, but I'm the guy in old Archive. Yeah once you get into Alpha Commando and the toys based on it there is a lot to work with. Not to mention the Special Forces action figure line from Toy Island... actually, yes, do mention the Special Forces line! I never really see anybody talk about them but white Sky Patrol RoboCop figure was one of my favorites as a kid. And those figures came out before Alpha Commando (95% sure) so perhaps they were the inspiration for Robo's different colored gadget sets in Alpha Commando. Heck, there's a whole Fact or Fiction video right there!

Yep! They were part of the Series line. There were several PowerGlow light up ones in different colors as well. _________________

I always wanted a powerglow RoboCop as a kid, but I only found about them later on through the internet. Unlike the special forces Robos, I don't remember ever seeing the powerglow RoboCop figures as a kid. I did buy myself the red one on eBay a few years ago, and it completely fell apart later that day. Still satisfied the urge, I got a few good hours powerglow. And when it comes down to it, special forces figures were way cooler. Like that sky force Robo I mentioned, not only does he look fresh as hell in the clean white with the red visor, his alternate helmet is the only helmet Robo has ever worn that I can think of where Robo's whole face is visible, so perps can look into his eyes and see there really is a soul behind the machine. Powerglow can't do that.
