I've never been into comics a whole lot personally, but I have read a few here and there. I've certainly seen plenty of movies made off them. Only some I liked pretty good, others I didn't like that much or didn't care for. That said, I like judging a movie by itself and it's predecessors in film mainly, so even if I read all the comics before watching the films, my opinion might have not changed of them too much.
That said, V for Vendetta rocks and so does Sin City. The V graphic novel I ain't read but would like to. I do have 'The Hard Goodbye' and have read parts of 'Yellow Bastard'. I did read both almost literally right before I watched the film, though.
I've never read traditional superhero comics much (Batman, Superman, etc), which is kind of a shame. As for such films - I really like 1989 Batman and Begins. Mask of the Phantasm I also like but ain't seen in a LONG time. Returns is just Batman Edward Scissorhands style to me.
Blade was alright, though the vampire thing I never cared for in the first place. X-Men movies weren't all that good to me.
My dad said he only 'sorta liked' Fantastic Four (which you forgot ), and thought Silver Surfer was kinda shitty. Granted he had read FF comics back when, so, maybe he got a bit biased there. As movies, I consider them about the same myself though.
I have to say I'm surprised a few of those titles are based off some kind of comic, but that's cool. Anyway, there's my say. Though I think we might have a topic about this somewhere already. Still, there you have it. _________________

I just watched Jonah Hex and didn't think it was entirely horrible. But from what I read after I watched it, it appears that they pretty much abandoned the comic story almost completely. Which is not surprising. It always amazes me how many stories of comic book characters, good stories mind you, that are already in print, but they decide to think up something completely new for them anyway.
My opinion on comic book movies is that they loosely base the movies around characters from comic books and every other part of their stories are completely shit on and retold a different, and usually worse, way.
Love the Iron man movies though... _________________

Iron Man was indeed good. My old man loves it.
And I think Demise has a point. Being a fan of the base comics doesn't seem to mean much given how they deal with the films they make these days. All the time it seems they're making their own stories or otherwise going off on a tangent so in my case, I don't feel I'm missing much of anything on the films by not reading the comics. Which I find a bit sad actually. Bah. _________________

Any of my faves anyone's faves?
You should watch Akira and Ghost in The Shell? two excellent, violent and stylish adult animated Sci-fi action thrillers from Japan that broke the anime mould. GITS (Ghost in The Shell) is very Robocop-esque with the idea of cyborg officers with a bit of Blade Runner, it's a big influence on films like The Matrix to Surrogates and more.

Oh, I didn't catch originally that those were your faves, I just thought it was just a list. Sorry about that. Well, you got an idea of what I like out of them in my earlier post, so there ya go.
That said, V for Vendetta is definitely one I consider one of my real overall 'favorite' movies. Sin City I also like a lot.
The other ones I posted that I like I of course like alright but don't consider 'favorites' I guess. As I said, never been into comicbook stuff too much. _________________

I loved Sin City, Ghost World, the Nolan Batflicks... I own in DVD V for Vendetta (mmm...Natalie Portman...) and 300, but I think they´re a little bit inferior than the comics. Batman by Burton doesn´t stand well with the ages, I enjoy more the second film than the first one...
