The combat is better in Defiance by far. If I remember right you have Circle/B for telekinesis (think the force fush or force grab), Square/X as your standard attack and Triangle/Y for a lift up attack (think back and Circle in the Devil May Cry games sans Ebony and Ivory to back it up). You also use Triangle/Y to finish an enemy off. Also, Raziel's Soul Reaver has different properties and you can switch them at will with a press of the D-Pad.
As for what I'm now playing it's the Dead Or Alive 5 demo which I snagged from Tecmo. I also reveived a beta code for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier so shall be playing that when the servers open.

Finished SR2 and on to Defiance tonight. I must admit, my pants are proverbially tight.

Which is worrying because you don't have the tools to make your pants tight.
Right?

Right. That's why they are proverbially tight, rather than actually tight. They're... 'tight in spirit'.
Liking playing as Kain a lot, I'm definitely gonna have to get Blood Omen 2.

Max Payne.
I am currently pitching a trouser tent at the thought of the third game in the series so I thought I'd recap Max's previous escapades.
Even though bullet time has been around for ages and is used way too often, the Max Payne series gets away with it in my eyes because it was the first major game series to use it. I still get a cheap thrill out of it.

I loved Max Payne 1 and 2 back in the day... But somehow I'm feeling sceptical over Max Payne 3.
Anyway, I borrowed a friend of mine's IPad for a day and plowed through "Batman: Arkham City Lockdown", which wasn't bad.
I'm currently playing "Alice in Wonderland" for the DS, which has pretty neat character designs. And I'm thinking of having a DoA 3 session on the X-Box before going to bed. _________________

I can understand why.
But people seem to think Noir is only allowed to be set in New York or L.A, when it rains and during the night. Noir is more than that, it's an atmosphere.
I think what Rockstar are doing is starting a new chapter in Max's life. This way you can appeal to veterans of the series and newcomers alike. Yeah, there will probably only be brief mentions of past characters but you can still acknowledge past events.
trust me '93, I'll be very unhappy if it's crap.

I know why I am feeling skeptical.
No piss-drinking face? No deal.
Nah, there will probably be a point when it'll get played, but still. This was my personal highlight. Oh, and Lords and Ladies. And crappy voice acting from the bad guys. If they make it quality, what will I LOL at? It'll be all soooper-serious and stuff. :/ (I know it's supposed to be serious... kinda: dead wife and child and all... but I generally just found the last two games to be a roflcaust... in a good way).

On the plus side Remedy actually modelled Max some ears for the sequel.

Yeah, this time because James McCaffrey who voices Max in all three games is now doing the motion capture Rockstar decided to model his face aswell. If you look at the first bits of concept art for Max Payne 3 it was just photoshopped pictures of Timothy Gibbs (who was the model used for Max in the second game) before they decided they would use McCaffrey.
At a point Rockstar weren't even going to get McCaffrey back to voice Max but fans were not too happy about that. I can deal with the face change as it has happened with the last two games. There will also be parts where Max has hair and is clean shaven or parts where Max has hair and a beard. The narrative is not always in chronological order.
