Well, Padilha mentioned that the two writers he is working with are still Josh Zetumer and Nick Schenk.
I think it's good that these two are still writing. Remember all the crap with Aronofsky? At least it seems that it will not be repeated with the writers.
My only concern is their lack of experience. Zetumer has penned "numerous" scripts but only a couple have been put into production and Schenk has only done the one, although I am optimistic as Gran Torino was a good film.

Gran Torino is an awesome film..But entirely different subject matter I've noticed that some writers that do well in one particular genre or the other don't always do well in Sci Fi..It's almost like Horror,Good science fiction usually comes from writers who tend too naturally lean to that direction same with Horror..Not to say that this is the rule and it's never broken cause like anything else it would be ignorant to say "well he's not written any science fiction so it's gonna suck".Its just my observation of writers and their subject matter.
