I think I could count the number of Terminator's in that trailer on one hand.
There just seems to be a lot of barren landscape with humans running around.
I just recall from T1 and T2 loads of Terminators bombarding the humans...
Maybe the full film will portray this... |
I can't remember where skynets headquarters are, either in LA or chicago, but thats where most of the machines will be, though Im not sure if this is set near to skynet which I think it is, also theres lots of different terminators for different purposes, T-800 is an infiltration unit, for blending in and sneaking around, not that arnie did that mind you lol, T-600's are more just raw killers, with big guns and rubber skin, im sure theres like 9 different terminators in this film

The trailer looked like crap. First off it looks a ton more like Mad Max then Terminator (But Mad Max would rock the lid off of anything with Terminator in the title), the terminators themselves are pretty boring, I'd much rather see the regular humanoid types and a few H/Ks then the armies of nonsense-bots. Motorcycles, 100 foot tall idiot things??? They're boring, not as awe inspiring as the cold, evil exoskeleton.
And Christian Bale is doing his fucking "deep" voice.

They should change it to Nonsense-Bot : Salvation.
The great thing to me about about T1 and T2 (& T3) is it showed just one Terminator causing all the terror and killing. These few more Terminators in the future don't do much in the trailor, so I agree with RoboPimp saying they are boring.

Great! I have no sound on this computer, but now I know this there is no hope for Terminator. It will just remind me of Bale thinking he is in his Batman costume and his balls have finally dropped.

As far as the amount of Terms after them, keep in mind that the future war sequence of T2 was at the end of the war (due to budget and time constraints they couldn't do what they wanted to do: the death of SkyNet, the time displacement of Reese and the reprogrammed T-800) and SkyNet had grown desperate, hence the waves of skinless infiltrators. The future war sequences of T1 were more representative of how the war usually went.

I gotta agree with you, Johan. I saw that pic on EW and the first thought to enter my head was: WTF?
It's bizarre to think that Stan Winston was in charge of all of that before his passing, because nothing about anything we've seen on the machine side even remotely reminds me of his talents.
I don't know, maybe he was purely working as the special effects supervisor, and everyone else was handling the machine side of his studio. But that brings up its own set of issues, like why he would stay out of the design process for the franchise that put he, Cameron and Schwarzenegger on the map.

Honestly it looks like a bad photoshop job, not at all like the production stills that have been coming from the film previously. And that endo looks like something from a theme park ride....

i'll have to agree with Pimp about Bale's deep "I'm Batman" voice and 10ft tall human-body-bird-head-with-laser-shit robots...
also one more annoying thing to me...
remember this --> Christian Bale ... in ... "BATMAN - Begins"
and now this --> Christian Bale ... the end... BEGINS! ... "Terminator Salvation! yeah!"
... can't wait to see another hollywood blockbuster shit with Bale ... he is a good actor, but c'mon... what's next?
