hollywoodreporter :
RoboCop retains a sizable fan base online.

Yeah, that is definitely us. Smile

I just hope they continue with Alex Murphy and not introduced a new police officer that goes threw the exact same thing. That would be so cheap.

And heres hoping they focus more on a "Frankenstein" approach rather than the shining superhero approach. We already got ironman, no need to compete with that.

Maybe a duo? RoboCop and Anne Lewis! She died in the third but ... everything is possible! Wink

I'm very exited, but at the same time very nerves !
Dose sound like a good team up of people behind this movie.

Maybe Mr Aronofsky should ask the REAL fanbase for some tips.

Techno, right now i don't even know if there'll be an "Alex Murphy" in 2010.

If this Bloody Disgusting font is really right, they maybe will find another "voluntary" to put on the new RoboCop project... Afterall, RoboCop-Murphy was terminated 20 years ago.

Thats why i cant figure why can be a "Sequel" if they'll make a movie not about the old installments, but a new line of thinking.

I am worried about what will be done with the Robocop suit in this movie, and a drastic change is something I am just not quite willing to accept. I also hope that the California LA storyline is complete bullshit, for I can't stomach a storyline taking place in a place like California. It just doesn't fit the Robocop franchise, maybe the Terminator one, but not Robocop.

I noticed the word "tightlipped" around the news, and it sounds both good but bad at the same time.

I will not speculate on the storyline until we have ourselves a new trailer, and until I see that trailer, I will pass judgement upon the production. Sad robo

GREAT NEWS!!!

I am really thrilled!
Big Budget, R rated, good director who seems to be a friend of dark films.
When you remember The Dark Knight and compare it to the former Batman movies, it was quite dark. And they did not choose him because of he wanted an even more dark version! -awesome!

So we will definetely not get something like ROBO 3!!

Compared with the latest Robo stuff including the both crappy series, that is a real great basis in my opinion.

I'm just happy that there will happen somehting big with ROBO, hoping the best!

I really hope that they leave the look of the ROBO armor as is, but that they do it with the technology you can use today. These plastic looked great for the 80's but today every kid would laugh about it.

But I am pretty sure it will at least look as good as in Ironman

I hope a woman will be again at his side ! ..she died in third part ...how problem they could ro return story of the new film in front of the R3 and separate the good films ( R1,R2) from the bad parts of the Robocop history
( R3,Series ,PD)

as for Aronofsky and David Self as writter ...( not too known for me ) that remind me the Verhoeven and Neumeir before the R1 .. Smile yeah good news for me ... .go boys go ! Smile

I wonder if Darren has a connection with Self somehow or if MGM just paired the two up. I do like the direction this is going and I absolutely love Road to Perdition. You can see why they may have hired Self with most of his movies dealing with relationships between family members and overcoming stereotypes and what's on the "outside."
