i'm a big fan of robocop 2 as well as robocop 1. so here's a post for people who love the second movie and want to say good things about it and who are sick of seeing it get trashed in every forum! robocop 2 rocks!! it scared the crap out of me when i was a kid. i still remember shaking in the front seat of the cinema. tom noonan is scary man and i can never look at him the same haha. and the scene when robocain kills all the nuke dealers is in my opinion one of the greatest scenes in a film. robocop 2 is a classic for me and i don't care what anyone thinks, including frank miller!

There are things I like about it as well. I liked Robocop's new look, and I like how he seemed more comfortable as a cyborg, or at least Weller played the part like he had accepted his condition more and seemed a little more human.
I liked the scene where they deconstructed Robocop; it kinda echoed how he died in the first movie...heck it just now occured to me that they began by shooting off his hand, just like they did in the first film. I can't believe it took me eighteen years to realize that... (lol)
I thought it was funny when OCP re-programmed him to do stupid stuff. It had potential to be funnier, but I guess if it were any funnier, it would come across as silly, but anyway...
I like the notion of Cain being rebuilt as a cyborg, and how OCP thought they could control him with his drug-addiction.
There were things that seemed off at times, but overall I really like Robocop 2. I just wonder if they'll do a 20th Anniversary edition in a couple of years like they did the first one. I hope so...

He went back to being a Cyborg in Robocop 2, and was more corny and 1 dimensional..complete opposite of Robo 1 and even his return as Murphy at the end of the original..it just didnt follow the first movie.
Robo 2 had some good action scenes, larger budget and excellent super villain. Robo even had a few good one liners too, in an otherwise lackluster dialogue.

R#2 main fault was disconnection from first movie.
Even a short Mediabreak item about Delta City construction, and criminals killing workers would save some continuity.

It would've been way more awesome if clarence was RoboCain
That would be sick.
But it's awesome in it's own right. Murphy's battle for humanity was challenged by the very company that resurrected him. Thats powerful shit for a 90's flick.

there's still some negativity here about it, grrr. oh well, thats life, people are always gonna pick at robocop 2. well, i love both robocop 1 and 2 and always will and i can't follow the issues people have with the second one. it didn't mess with the mythology like most sequels do and i still think of it as a kickass episode in the series. everyone complains about 'they didn't explore his humanity' in it more, i say, so what? its not like they discarded it, it was touched on and they simply left it open for later sequels. hey, you realise there's another sequel out there that didn't fully explore the main character? the dark knight! same thing, they left it open and the story goes on, whats so bad about that?? i've looked at robocop 2 from a negative viewpoint (was hard trying to get my head up my own ass) but, sorry, can't do it. get to the scene where robo's walking down the street looking for the nuke factory and thats it, i'm hooked, its got just about everything i love in a sci/fi action movie and its definitely way way too under-rated. and i really enjoy the score! there's some deep bassy shit in it that gives the scenes more scope. oh no!! its not the exact same score as the first one! no, its the score for robocop 2, it matches robocop 2, it is fucking robocop 2.

I really hope they do a 20th Anniversary Robocop 2 DVD in 2010 like they did for the first one...

i'd say they would make special editions of all 3 robocops when the new movie comes out. like they did when batman begins came out. they should get peter weller to do reflections on the making of it, that would be wicked. and i would love to see an interview with irvin kirshner about robo 2.

Well, I also like robocop 2
My favourite part is in the beguining of the movie! when he gets out of the flaming car! and I also liked the music (I donīt care what the other fans say about that theme, it was cool) _________________

zigzactly. its got a great soundtrack. i feel sorry for the composer leonard rosenman. he probably worked his butt off to write the music and he's forever getting compared to basil poledouris' score. if people would only stop comparing it and look at it for its own merits they would see its pretty fucking good

I also like RoboCop 2. But I also DON'T hate 3. R2 suffers the problem of not trying to continue where the first movie left off. I mean, the Old Man is now corrupt and also there wasn't enough of Murphy, though there was a lot of RoboCop. _________________ Anything you post can be used against you!

I have seen some pictures of this scene. |
if there are some picts there is also a recording .. I would soo like to see it !
Robocop 2 is still good film . That has still many interesting ideas ..only one thing chata miss there is just more of the emotional scenes ( as the with graveyard )
but one thing what disturb me there is the change with the Old man ..He looks better in role "good " man than bad .
