Got word from Avatar Press that the Frank Miller RoboCop TPB was released two weeks ago. I'm not sure if it was released in a limited quanity or what but its very hard to find.
Quote: | The collection features 216 Full color pages and includes all nine issues of the series! The vast majority of Miller's insane ideas, vicious black humor, and robotic mayhem never made it to the screen but is finally unleashed in this comic series!
Sequential adaptation from Steven Grant and art by Juan Jose Ryp.
Also available as a hardcover edition with a new cover by artist Juan Jose Ryp. |

I just saw this in the comic shop today and I was very impressed with it. All the covers are intact and the binding is very sturdy. There are some extras in the back along with a bit of concept art and the whole series is represented on paper that seemed a little thicker than the individual books. If you are going to pick up the TPB I would definitely buy it from this seller or one like it on Ebay cause the things retails for $29.99 at my local comic shop and I wasent about to pay that much for a series I already own. But for those who dont have it yet, pick it up, the art is a little busy for my tastes but its neat to see what direction the Robocop films could have taken if they followed Millers vision!

I must buy this.
By the way...how much does the story differ from what I saw in RoboCop 2 and 3?

Drastic enough to warrent a look. Names are changed, lots more action as it turns out. Much more bloodshed in general really and DR.Love(Faxx) has a much more expanded and decidedly creepier part in the books. Oh and I havent read them for a while but Im pretty sure Kong(Cain) Speaks, could be wrong though.
Im thinking of going back and reading them again, as I couldent look past the busy artwork before, but have since grown accustomed to it and may give the series another chance.
