| Quote: | In December 2011, Dynamite Entertainment proudly returns to the future of law enforcement to clean up the mean streets of Detroit. "Serve the public trust, protect the innocent, uphold the law." And it all begins in the all-new, high-octane adventure of RoboCop: Road Trip #1.
Based on the cult classic film of the same name, Dynamite's RoboCop: Road Trip series combines director Paul Verhoeven's original world of a futuristic dystopian Detroit with a larger, overarching conspiracy theory (in the spirit of All the President's Men) and high action, extreme violence and satire. Once again spearheading RoboCop is the acclaimed writer, Rob (GHOST RIDER) Williams, with art by Unai and covers by the amazing Fabiano Neves! Be sure to pick up RoboCop: Road Trip #1 this December!
"Road Trip is our first chance to take a look at Robocop's twisted version of America outside the confines of Old Detroit," says series writer Rob Williams. "But OCP isn't going to just let Murphy and what's left of the Old Detroit Police Department run off to get help. An entirely new deadly robot prototype is on their tail. And with Murphy's mind fracturing following the death of his partner, Lewis, Road Trip has a somewhat psychedelic double meaning. This is Robocop's world as you've never seen it before." |

Pretty bland looking, I like the idea of seeing more of Robocop's world outside of Detroit, but "Road Trip" just doesn't seem like it. I don't think we need yet another prototype hot on his trail. _________________

I predict another fuck up.
Still, it can't get any worse, although Dynamite will probably try.

Wow, you've got to admit they have balls.
Their first Robocop comic was such a monumental disaster that they did not even bother to finish it. Then they make a Terminator cross-over that spiraled into a parody by the second issue and yet, they make another Robocop comic.
Who do they expect to go and buy it? I mean, even if it wasn't crap (right) even if there is someone out there that liked their previous Robocop comic (yeah RIGHT) everyone still remembers that they never freaking finished it. Who's going to invest money in a (likely crappy) comic that could easily be cancelled at any time?

What's up with that Ball-drropping stance? Looks kinda odd. Almost as if the artist fucked up on the perspective and just said, "Well, he can spread his legs and then it'll make sense.
Good art, lazy layout! _________________

This seems out of character.
Why the breakdown? And psychedelic, sounds great...

£5 says the deadly robot is Lewis.
Also - I predict Tom Green shows up.

Oh hey, I hadn't noticed this before... so it IS a sequel to their previous Robocop comic?

Agree. It's like ROBOCOP was just done a commercial for OLD SPICE riding a UNICORN (not a horse) backwards, and promoting the product.
I think he should've been drawn in his normal standing position, and THEN change the perspective of ED-209 (or whatever) in the foreground)... but I kind of understand the "leg spreading" pose reason... it's all about PERSPECTIVE in the picture, nothing else. _________________ - Robert

This "road trip" story was announced a while back and was originally supposed to be issue 7. Now it is apparently a separate storyarc.
Unfortunately it is written by Rob Williams, the same guy who wrote the other robo comics. So I don't have much faith in it being anything special. In fact I'm gonna presume it will continue to have little respect or knowledge of the character, have covers that have nothing to do with the content and a story that will focus on other characters instead of RoboCop.

Funny enough, today I was talking to a guy who works in a comic shop called Sam. He was talking of his aspirations and said he knew the writer so I asked him some questions.
He couldn't tell me much but he did say that the reason Robo looks so shit in the artwork, is that he was drawn as a reference to Frank Miller's work. It's okay, I don't see it either.
I did say to tell him about how the community doesn't like the story or art and he should tell him, but Sam said at the moment he's kissing his ass as he's a contact in the comics industry which is what he wants to get into.
Now, this guy doesn't lie. Christ I can't even get him to swear. He also attended DragonCon as "Swamp Thing"...

Maybe.
It was a home made costume. He was in the parade and he said something about " holding up the banner".
If you habe any more pictures of the 'Con Vader, throw them up...
