It happened. It was called RoboCop 3 and I think there are two people in the world who like the jetpack and by the looks of it you're one of them.
Robo ain't meant to be fast. You send him in as a last resort and he cleans up. Think of him like a really sexy tank, he doesn't need to be fast but he sure is devastating as hell.
If you make him speedy, make him fly, and give him other shit he really doesn't need it becomes less "authentic". If you go watch Iron Man you accept it because it is adapted from a comic book wheras Robo isn't. Robo is a bit more adult than that and I can't see many people who want him to fuck around in the air.

Maybe it will be a liquid skin Robo like Terminator 2! What is the point of making a Robocop without the Robo? This is such an embarassing and fraudulent take on one of the best hero creations! Sad.

Well... I was not saying about jetpack, Robo should be like Iron Man with the "jetpacks" attached to his feet and possibly flight stabilizers in his hands.
Yeah... we know Robocop 3 pretty sucked. I have no idea in the world there they found japanese ninja androids would be cool and considering the whole movie was toned down to get a PG-13, yeah... it sucked! 
But the jetpack I found cool, it makes me remember the game Duke Nukem 3D!

I still think they need too incorparate a recon drone that Robo fire's out of his ass..They might aswell make their mockery of the character complete..

Okay so theres very minimal news on the Robo remake but none the less we know Gary Oldmans character and Murphy are the 2 guys the story revolved around does that mean they have totally scrapped Lewis??

You know what, that's a damned good point.
I won't lie. As cliché as it is I like the creator who on one hand wants to do the bidding of the company that signs his pay cheque but also feels bad about trapping a man and taking control from him and using said man as a product. Because of this I could see that Norton ( ) will be Robo's human connection. Either that or they're just recasting Lewis.
It fits with Padilha's idea of taking a free will away from someone.
