Remakes that are better than the original

Title says it all. Say a remake you think is better than the original.
The Razor's Edge (1984)
- Bill Murray's acting is amazing and he makes Larry Darrell seem real. He should've won an Oscar for his performance.
-The acting in the '46 version is terrible and the '46 movie is boring, making the '84 movie overall a better movie.

I liked Paul Anderson's "Death Race" better than the original. However I can't really put my finger on any other remake that was better.

sorry there was a good remake that was king kong but I think iam pushing it a little there tho because it was years and years ago before they had any hi-tech stuff back then, but its a remake still

Red Dawn was pretty damn good,..The original while well loved by us 80's kid's wasn't the best film but was still entertaining in its own right.

Same with Martin Campbell's definitive version of Casino Royale which presented us with Daniel Craig as a grittier James Bond than Pierce Brosnan was in his last few outings.

One good remake is Extreme Prejudice from 1987 (Walter Hill). It was his own version of The Wild Bunch, but with a faster pace and more high energy shootouts.

Nolan Batman series are reboots. Not really remakes. They're not redoing something already made, they're making their own way. I personally don't count them the same. Nor do I or anyone else consider Schumacher to be anywhere near a 'base' to go on. Thats ridiculous.

I also don't count James Bond films, which essentially have always been series of reboots occasionally also working as semi-continuations/sequels. Strictly though Casino Royale does qualify though.

Bah, again, I still can't think of anything else.
