Sad news to report, but Tom Noonan, best known for his roles in RoboCop 2, The Monster Squad, Last Action Hero, Manhunter and Heat passed away on 14th February at the age of 74.
Rest In Peace, Cain. _________________

Just read the news, but it seems some people (including the Archive itself) says there´s no statement from his family, so I´m not sure if it´s real or not. If he´s dead, too bad. He was 74...

That's a fuck on.
I was only considering watching the second film the other day, so now it's a given. It's also the perfect time to introduce my other half to Last Action Hero.

Sean Clark spoke to his agent, who seems to have hinted at him being unwell a while ago which may have tied in to this sad news.
For those that don't have or use Facebook:
| Quote: | | It was a pleasure working with you for close to 15 years. The last time I saw Tom he was the happiest most content I’d ever seen him. He had a new love in his life and honestly it was the first time I’d see him truly happy. He told me he wanted to get out more and do more conventions. That was the first time he had ever really expressed wanting to do them. So a few months later I reached out with some offers and there was no reply. I emailed him, called him and left voice mails but nothing. Months turned into a year and I kept trying. I feared something had happened health wise. So I reached out to his theatrical agent who I had never communicated with before. I explained who I was and that I had been working with Tom for over a decade and it wasn’t about the show offers. I was just genuinely concerned. He wouldn’t give me any details but in so many words let me know that he wasn’t going to be working anytime in the foreseeable future. I still don’t have any details and I hope at some point they shed some light on what exactly happened. But this is news I have been preparing myself for. Even though we worked together a long time we were not close. However I did enjoy working with him and I was a big fan of his work. Rest easy big fella. ♥️ |

Yeah, it is probably real, unfortunately. He wasn't in the best of shape the last times i saw him on the screen.
It's just always funny how the internet jumps on something and makes it the truth without no proof or facts whatsoever.
In this case the source was a post on Instagram, from someone who previously worked with Noonan. A post that has now been deleted for whatever reason. That is what sites like Wikipedia lists as a source.
No statement from a Noonan representative, family etc and no major news or movie sites like empireonline are reporting on it. Whenever a big movie star dies it hits the news instantly. This just went mostly around on social media which makes it pretty bizarre.
Just check the kind of sites that reported on Robert Duvall passing away. BBC, New York Times, CNN.
For Tom Noonan? Nothing.
Even TMZ is silent, and they will report on anything.

New York Times just reported it finally. His daughter announced it but did not state the cause. She did say that he was hospitalized at the time. _________________

I noticed that at the Actors Awards the other day they included Tom in the In Memoriam section and, unlike most, they actually showed a clip of him rather than just a still image and a name card.
As the Oscars are soon they'll likely include him in this years In Memoriam section, unless he passed away too recently and they will include him in next years. _________________
