Why? It seems like it protects your head so you'd want to keep it on.

Now what the hell is wrong with Stallone taking the helmet off? You sounds like one of them comicfreaks...
|
According to wikipeida:
Quote: |
In the comic, he very rarely removes his helmet -- twice in the entire history of the series, apart from the above mentioned The Dead Man storyline -- and even then, his real face is never revealed.
|
So it's like making a batman movie and he takes his mask off halfway through and then battles some thugs...or spiderman or the like. |
My thoughts exactly. In the comics he NEVER takes it off, that way he's more intimitating or however you spell it, and way cooler. It would have been cool if he would have taken it off for a brief time or something, like in the locker room or somethin. In the comics I've only seen him take it off once and then he was shot in the head and his head was covered in bandages. What's this Dead Man -storyline then?

Well I read a bit about it on Wikipeida, and it's a non-Dredd story that takes place in Dredd universe, about a disfigured and burned amnesic guy traveling through the Cursed Earth. It turns out he really is Dredd, who had taken the Long Walk and then got attacked 100 days later. HE then returns to Mega City 1 to fight the dark judges in the monumental Necropolis story. Must have throw people for a loop because they were reading a non Dredd story, and then all the sudden he's Dredd. You see his face but it was burned by acid, so you don't REALLY see his face. I never actually read it, but would certainly love to get it at some point.

When no one is watching and on his deathbed, which are fine circumstances fro Dredd to remove his helmet too.

Yes but since were talking about the movie, Dredd is nowhere near a
situation like that. Well it's okay it's taken off during the prison transport to
Titan,
even though he gets to wear it and the uniform in the comics when he gets sentenced there.
Shit, now that I think of it, the whole thing makes sense.
But then again, do judges get the same treatment as regular prisoners?
Not in the comics anyway. Wow, this is confusing
Anyway, I meant it would be cooler if the helmet stayed on most of the film.
Duck: That's creepy... But it makes sense...
