Well I finally went to go see the movie. Funny thing is its the last day they are showing it my local theater, a fact I did not know until I got there but am now glad I showed up when I did. It was great though cause we were the only ones in the theater for that movie, I was free to cheer and clap to my hearts content.
Anyways, I actually really liked the film. It was gory in just the right places and never slow the whole time (with the exception of the "Tension" moments). was also glad to see that they really dident go into the back stories of all the human meat puppets as that really wasent what I wanted to see although most of the characters that you were supposed to want to live were likable. There are a few surprises, and a neat lil twist at the end for anyone who has followed the series. I think the strouse brothers did a great job! _________________

You mean, you don't cheer and applaud in a full theatre?
Glad you liked it, looks like the trailer does represent the movie well. _________________

Great job might be stretching it just a little. But it was alright much better than the first but it's just too little too late for the frachise for me..I kept watching try'n to give a shit about what was happening and just could'nt have cared less. The brothers Strause shoulda lost the whole hybrid Alien crap in the initial wreck that thing looked like Shit.I did'nt like the whole "We'll make this Predator a even bigger Badass than his predacessors by giving an extra shoulder canon that he can combine with his other canon to make a big ass dirty harry predator gun"..I mean geez I got the he was a badass cuzz he went in by himself to begin with. The Score was real nice bout" time some figured out that both creatures have a musical theme and used it.The look of the film was nice too it looked like Aliens looked and looked like the st predator looked aswell.Thats were they did well.I'd some up this flick as being just really really alright. Not good or bad just alright.

It started off a little too slow..but was pretty good overall. Very accurate to the Predator movies. Only real problem, was that there was no human characters to care about. Though both the lead male and female roles were cast well, their characters should've been active Military combat(like Delta Force) soldiers taking on the Xenomorphs and rescuing some civilians.
I give it 3 1/2 stars out've 5.

From BLOODY-DISGUSTING.COM:
| Quote: | We've got a holy sh*t scoop for you that's going to have half of you screaming in excitement and the other throwing tomatoes. A reliable source dropped us a line revealing to us that Robert Rodriquez and his Troublemaker Studios will be producing the Predator reboot for 20th Century Fox. Now here' the kicker, the pitch being sent around town implies that the reboot will have more than one predator. "In the reboot a team of commandoes face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters." No writer has been attached yet - and there is no script. No word on whether or not Rodriquez will direct, but it seems highly unlikely considering how many projects he has in development.

What do you all think of this? Could be great, but I dont see why they couldnt just make a sequel....not like Predator 2 kept much of the previous story besides the little bit Busey spouted.

| Quote: | Announced at a Sega event in London today, the "all-new" Aliens vs. Predator (that's a working title, folks) will mark the return of Rebellion, developers of the 1999 game of the same name that Sega calls a "legendary title that went on to define an entire generation of multiplayer gaming." But all this excitement doesn't come cheap: "With the opportunity to publish what promises to be a landmark game, SEGA has strategically updated the release of the other upcoming Aliens titles currently in development within its portfolio." We'll translate that for you: you won't be seeing Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines FPS and Obsidian's is-that-still-in-development Aliens RPG anytime soon.
CEO of Sega West, Naoya Tsurumi, explains, "By adjusting the release of our other Aliens titles to accommodate [Aliens vs. Predator], SEGA will ensure that every title lives up to the high expectations of Aliens and AvP fans." We've asked Sega to clarify the delay (it's just a delay, right?) of both previously announced titles. Is Aliens vs. Predator "the first to launch in a series" of AvP games, or "the first to launch in a series" of Aliens games, including the previously announced two? |

i know this is late in the game but I just finally got the chance to see AVP:R and you know what? I had fun watching it.
sure there has no story, or character development, but so what? though I never felt actually tense, I had fun watching this.
I also liked the locations, having aliens attack some suburban town was kinda neat.
yes sure it isnt Shakespeare but really were any of the others?

Is anyone else on here a fan of Alien 3 by any chance? And when I say Alien 3, I am ONLY referring to the directors cut that has 30 minutes of additional footage. I refuse to watch the theatrical version.
I typically find myself in the minority when I bring up this movie, but I generally love it, and it is my favorite film of the series. Now don't get me wrong, I still love and appreciate Alien and Aliens for what they are. No doubt about that. But there was just something different about 3 that really hit home for me and my imagination.

Just like you, I refuse to watch the theatrical version, cause the Director's Cut really brings the movie back to life and puts the admin boys to shame for forcing the re-cutting to what we saw in the cinema's _________________

You're one of the few people who I've encountered that really likes that movie. It really annoys me when people say 3(and even Resurrection) aren't part of the franchise because they aren't "good enough". Just the idea of being stranded on a prison planet with prisoners who are left in charge sounds pretty crazy. Then throw in the fact that the only two people you were with died, and you brought an alien with you that you're trapped there with, and you have no sufficient weapons to defend yourself with. I love it. Clemmins was always my favorite characters, I'm always so bummed every time he gets killed. Although it smashing his skull is really awesome none the less.
