Oh yeah!

Big fan of that series right here.

I've played and beaten the original Arcade game, and SplatterHouse 2 and 3 on Sega Genesis many, many times.

Even played and beat "Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti" on the Nintendo Famicom.

Rick is a Badass SomBitch, and those are some of my favorite games.

Thats sweet dude, Rick is def. a real butt kicker, but yea, I never got what was up with rick and Jen going to see that mad doctor dude and how rick got knocked out on the first one, but the third one I think was the nastyest of all of them, and thats why its fav. too, I would have to say the nastyest boss on the third one was the red-walking worm, when you damaged him alot his head came off and worms were coming out of his neck and when you killed him he fell on the floor and his chest exploed with worms and guts flying everywere... sick. Laughing

I haven't played any of the games, but I did notice the game was available on the Nintendo Virtual Console. Would you recommend it?

I'd say the worst visual was the first boss.

The one that was apparently eating Rick's wife.

Notice in the room you fight the thing, body parts of Rick's wife is strewn around the room.

Freaky shit.

Hells yeah, first arcade machine I was old enough to play was splatterhouse. All the kids who didnt know shit called it "jason" because of the similarity to jason from friday the 13th. Which pissed me off. But whatever, I thought that game was extra creepy and had all kinds of weird crap and carnage in it. Very cool.

Then I bought a Sega Genesis and 32X and Sega CD, and then came the ebay days and I bought SH3 on Sega. I sucked ass, but loved that you could turn into HULK RICK, and fuck up everthing. I didnt remember that fron the arcade, so that had me sold.

Was splatterhouse 2 arcade or what? I never saw it for any format...

I only play the PC engine version and just love the game.
Hope to see more of it.
A few years back I heard about a 3D PS2 splatterhouse.
I wonder why it never make it.

Maybe because the story was pretty much finished in Splatter House 3. The mask was destroyed and not escaped like in the previous parts, so it's hard to come up with a new sequel.
I played 2 and 3 parts. 2 was not so good, but really had it's charm.
3rd was really awesome and 4 endings and possibilities to skip stages or change the scenario were these things that made me complete the game over and over again.

Jesus CHRIST! Spatterhouse was one of the games that shaped my childhood.

To this day nothing creeps me out as much as SH3.

I mean think about it, some creepy black colored creature/thing. Or some sick looking flesh colored monstrosity (like the 'engineer' in Hellraiser I). Flesh colored monsters are always scarier because they seem more disgusting to the touch than say the 'alien' from.....well 'Alien'.

BTW, they have a new Splatter House coming out soon. Like 2010. I don't hold much high hopes for it as a new game (it being a slight remake of the original game) but for fans of the series it looks pretty fun.

At least for a while. I mean, using your own severed limb to beat zombies to re-death with is god damn awesome in my book.
